And recall what time Musa said unto his people: O my people! remember the favour of Allah on you when he made amongst you prophets and made you princes, and vouchsafed unto you that which he vouchsafed not to anyone in the world. 20 Enter the sacred promised land which God has designated for you. Do not return to disbelief lest you become lost". 21 They said: O Moses! Lo! a giant people (dwell) therein and lo! we go not in till they go forth from thence. When they go forth from thence, then we will enter (not till then). 22 Then two of the men who feared (God), and to whom God was gracious, said to them: "Charge and rush the gate. If you enter, you will surely be victorious. And place your trust in God if you truly believe." 23 They said: "O Musa (Moses)! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So go you and your Lord and fight you two, we are sitting right here." 24 Said (Moses): "O Lord, I have control over none but myself and my brother; so distinguish between us and these, the wicked people." 25 Allah said: "Therefore will the land be out of their reach for forty years: In distraction will they wander through the land: But sorrow thou not over these rebellious people. 26
