Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

And We sent not a prophet to any township but We laid hold of the people thereof with tribulation and distress that haply they may humble themselves. 94 Then changed We the evil plight for good till they grew affluent and said: Tribulation and distress did touch our fathers. Then We seized them unawares, when they perceived not. 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them at night while they are sleeping? 97 Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play? 98 Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish. 99
