۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 do not let Satan bar your way. He is truly your sworn enemy. 62 And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me. 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
