The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 On an open record. 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 none can avert that. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
