In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
