Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
