Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
