Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
