Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron, 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture; 117 and guided them to the straight path; 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 except the chosen servants of God. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be upon Ilyas! 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 When We saved him and his family, all, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We totally destroyed the others. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
