The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
