[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
