Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
