Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
