The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 stay away from sins 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
