The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
