Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
