The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
