The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
