Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
