Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
