The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
