The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to the diminishers, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a mighty day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
