In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HA MIM. 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 and so they say, [as it were:] "Our hearts are veiled from whatever thou callest us to, [O Muhammad,] and in our ears is deafness, and between us and thee is a barrier. Do, then, [whatever thou wilt, whereas,] behold, we shall do [as we have always done]!" 5 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Physically I am a human like you – I receive the divine revelation that your God is only One God, therefore be upright towards Him and seek forgiveness from Him”; and woe is to the polytheists. – 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
