and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
