The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
