Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
