The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 a written record, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
