Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The revelation of the Scripture whereof there is no doubt is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 What! They dare say that, “He has fabricated it”? In fact it is the Truth from your Lord, in order that you warn a nation towards whom no Herald of Warning came before you, in the hope of their attaining guidance. 3 Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is betwixt the twain in six days, and then He established Himself on the throne. No patron have ye nor an intercessor besides Him. Will ye not then be admonished? 4 He arranges (every) affair from the heavens to the earth, then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present world's time). 5 This is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Mighty the Merciful, 6 Who made all things He created excellent; and first fashioned man from clay, 7 Then He made his progeny of an extract, of water held in light estimation. 8 Then made him proper and blew into him a spirit from Him, and bestowed ears and eyes and hearts to you; very little thanks do you offer! 9 And they said, “When we have mingled into the earth, will we be created again?”; in fact they disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: The angel of death, who hath charge concerning you, will gather you, and afterward unto your Lord ye will be returned. 11
