Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
