The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and shade extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
