1/4 Hizb 50
< random >
۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 Let not Satan hinder you (from believing in the Hour), for surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
