So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
