Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
