The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who has created (all things) proportionately, 2 And Who hath disposed and then guided, 3 Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 then made it a blackening wrack. 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). 9 Those who have fear of God will benefit 10 but aloof from it will remain that most hapless wretch 11 and suffer the heat of the great fire 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
