[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron my brother 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and may remember You much. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
