And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 You and your fathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 Do not betray me 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
