The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
