Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 A guide and a mercy for the Muhsinun (good-doers) 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. 11
