In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Allah has caused the works of those who disbelieve and hinder people from the way of Allah to go to waste. 1 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds and believed in what has been sent down upon Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) – and that is the truth from their Lord – Allah has relieved them of some of their evils and refined their condition. 2 This, because they who are bent on denying the truth pursue falsehood, whereas they who have attained to faith pursue [but] the truth [that flows] from their Sustainer. In this way does God set forth unto man the parables of their true state. 3 Therefore, when you meet the unbelievers smite their necks, then, when you have killed many of them, tie the bonds. Then, either free them by grace or ransom until war shall lay down its loads, in this way, it shall be. Had Allah willed, He would have been victorious over them; except that He might test you, the one by the means of others. As for those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will not let their works to go astray. 4 Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, 5 and He will admit them to the Paradise He has made known to them. 6 Believers, if you help Allah, He will help you and strengthen your feet. 7 And those who disbelieve, downfall shall be theirs, and He shall send astray their works. 8 That was because they were averse to what Allah had revealed; so He let their works go to waste. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers. 10 This is so for God is the friend of those who believe while the unbelievers have no friend. 11
