Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
