In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Have We not made the earth a repository 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Move towards what you used to deny!" 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
