The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
