The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
