The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
