The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
