'Aad denied the messengers 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
