Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 Guidance and mercy for the righteous. 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
