Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
