The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And raised couches; 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right. 38
