Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 And [by] the day when it displays it 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 and the earth and all its expanse! 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 And He does not fear the consequence thereof. 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
