The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
